A DPM 2010 installation includes two main parts: installing the required prerequisite components and installing the DPM application itself. The DPM Setup Wizard performs most of this work as part of the integrated installation process.

- Start the DPM 2010 setup program.

- Complete the DPM application installation.
During installation, DPM Setup can stop the Removable Storage service when required by the setup process.

- Prepare storage for protected data.
- Deploy protection agents to the systems that will be protected.
- Create protection groups according to the required backup and recovery policy.
